The Hoke County Department of Public Utilities is a regional water and wastewater utility that provides service to approximately 37,500 people with 12,500 connections in Hoke County. Within the department are divisions with unique responsibilities.

  • Utilities Infrastructure Operations. This division produces and distributes the water supply. Responsibilities include; water quality assurance, repair and construction of distribution lines, construction observation and inspection, implementation of the Cross Connection Ordinance, consulting with engineers for system improvements, plan and development approval, etc.
  • Wastewater Collection. This division maintains lift stations, gravity and force mains, provides construction observation, consults with engineers for system improvements, implements regulatory requirements.
  • Utilities Business Operation. This division is responsible for the financial management of the department. Functions include billing, revenue collection, purchase approval and annual budget preparation.
