The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces on August 6, 2025, Narcotic/Vice Suppression Unit-Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on N. Old Wire Road after witnessing a traffic violation. During the traffic stop the driver was identified as Mr. Jody Alan Wooley and the passenger was identified as Ms. Billina Pate. Mr. Wooley did not have an active driver’s license, and detectives could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Canine “Ghost” was on the scene of the traffic stop and conducted a “sniff” of the vehicle. The canine gave a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, detectives located over $450 in US currency and a prescription pill bottle containing 16 oxycodone pills. After noticing more than 75 pills were missing from the pill bottle. Both Mr. Wooley and Ms. Pate were placed under arrest and transported to the Hoke County Detention Center. 

Mr. Wooley and Ms. Pate were charged at the Hoke County Detention Center with possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule-II controlled substance and maintain a vehicle for the sell/delivery of a controlled substance. Ms. Pate received a $7,500.00 secured bond. Mr. Wooley received a $2,500.00 unsecured bond, both given by the magistrate.
