Raeford, NC - The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces on January 6, 2026, members of the NVSU-Criminal Interdiction Team (C.I.T.) arrested Jerry King Locklear on drug and firearms charges.
Detectives with C.I.T. observed a vehicle on Rockfish Road near Galatia Church Road driving erratically and traveling into the opposite lane of travel. Based on these observations, a traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Jerry King Locklear.
Mr. Locklear admitted to having a revoked driver’s license and based on observations by law enforcement, a canine was utilized to conduct a search of the vehicle. The canine gave a positive alert and detectives then conducted a physical search of the car.
During the search a loaded .22 caliber revolver was found between the driver seat and console. Detectives also located suspected “crack” cocaine and a glass smoking pipe. Mr. Locklear was placed under arrest. It was later learned that Mr. Locklear was a convicted felon.
Mr. Locklear was taken to the Hoke County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of cocaine, carrying concealed weapon, driving while license revoked, and failure to maintain lane control.
Mr. Locklear was held on no bond due to previous violent offenses.
