The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, members of the Violent Crimes Task Force were performing interdiction in the area of Pittman Grove Church Road and Davis Bridge Road. The Detective performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a window tint violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Mr. Antonio Smith handed the Detective a Crown Royal bag containing suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a firearm was located concealed in the vehicle. The firearm was found to be stolen from Scotland County NC. Multiple narcotics were located on another occupant of the vehicle, but Mr. Smith advised they belonged to him. Mr. Smith was transported to the Hoke County Detention Center and processed for his charges. Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Schedule II, Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Simple Possession of Schedule IV, DWLR and Window Tint Violation. Mr. Antonio Smith received a no bond, due to the Bond Integrity Act.
