The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 17, 2024 members of the Hoke County Special Operations were contacted by the Department of Public Safety (N.C.D.A.C.) about assisting with a warrantless search.
Detectives met members of N.C.D.A.C. at a residence located on the 100 block of Mosswood Drive Raeford, North Carolina. Detectives were familiar with the residence based on an active narcotics investigation. During the search, James Norris Aiken attempted to flee from the house, on foot. A short foot pursuit ensued and Mr. Aiken threw suspected marijuana. The total weight of the marijuana was approximately two (2) ounces.
James Norris Aiken was apprehended without further incident and transported to the Hoke County Jail. Mr. Aiken was charged by detectives with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana. Mr. Aiken was taken before the magistrate and received a $5,000.00 secured bond.
