(FELONY INVESTIGATION)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on December 2, 2023, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service for a juvenile that has been the victim of a sexual assault, in the 100 block of Franklin Dr, Raeford, North Carolina.
During the investigation, there was evidence found that led to the arrest of Javier Gapi Diaz. He was charged with Statutory Rape of a Child, Incest of a Child, and Statutory Sex Offense with a Child; all felony charges.
Javier Gapi Diaz was taken into custody without incident and taken in front of the Hoke County Magistrate and received no bond. If you have any further information regarding this case, please contact Detective S. Catlett at (910) 875-5111.
Further investigation revealed Javier Gapi Diaz was charged on January 26, 2024, with 11 new charges, based on new evidence in the sexual assault investigation. Diaz was charged with 3 counts of Felony Statutory Rape of a Child, 3 counts of Felony Incest of a Child, 4 counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child, and 1 count of Felony Statutory Sex Offense with a Child. Diaz is currently being held on a $1,625,000 bond for the new charges at the Hoke County Jail.
