The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 24, 2024, that the Special Operations/Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had no registration plate and committed multiple traffic violations.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ms. Tanisha LaShaun Thomas. All occupants of the vehicle were asked to step out of the vehicle so that a canine could be utilized. While the passengers were exiting the vehicle a glass pipe fell out of the passenger area. The canine was utilized and alerted to the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in 56 grams of suspected methamphetamine being located.
Ms. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Hoke County Jail. At the jail, narcotics detectives obtained arrest warrants for two counts of trafficking methamphetamine. Ms. Thomas was on pretrial release for an assault charge and was given no bond.
