The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office previously announced that on Monday, November 10, 2024, at approximately 9:23 p.m., Deputies responded to a carjacking in the 180 block of Independence Drive. The victim was not harmed during the incident. The victim stated he was dropping off a delivery when three subjects approached him and asked for the victim’s car keys at gunpoint. The suspect drove off in the victim’s vehicle. Detectives arrived and met with the victim.
Later during the investigation, Hoke County Sheriff’s Office Detective was notified by Fayetteville Police Department on Monday, November 11, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m. the stolen vehicle was in a vehicle pursuit and crashed. Three subjects ran from police after the vehicle crashed. One of the subjects was detained without incident. The subject was identified as a juvenile. The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted and a Secured Custody Order for the juvenile was granted, and the juvenile was detained without incident. During the search of the stolen vehicle two firearms were recovered.
