The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at approximately 02:20 A.M., Deputies responded to the 200 Block of Spencer Ln., Red Springs, North Carolina, in reference to a well-being check. While enroute, Deputies were informed, by the caller, that her father was at her mother’s residence threatening to kill her. The son-in-law went to the victim’s address and was threatened by the suspect, with a firearm. While being threatened, the son-in-law could see the victim with her hands tied together. When Deputies arrived on scene and approached the residence, the suspect started to threaten Law Enforcement. Hoke County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team was contacted and arrived on scene. Hostage Negotiations were being conducted, but the suspect stopped speaking and would not answer the phone. At approximately 07:45 A.M., the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team conducted a hostage rescue. The suspect was detained without further incident and the victim was checked-out by Tac-Medics and had no life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, Mr. Rodney Clark, was transported to the Hoke County Detention Center and charged with (F) 1st Degree Kidnapping, (F) Domestic Violence Order Violation, (F) Possession of Stolen Firearm, (F) Firearm by Felon, (m) Assault on a Female, (m) Assault by Pointing Gun, and (m) Crime of Domestic Violence. No bond was given due to the Domestic Nature of the crimes.
